The Speciale CX is a classic beauty. Suited to getting dirty on your favorite cross course or maybe even a little light touring, or all-round city commuting. Right out of the box the Onix TDA features an irresistible mix of performance and cash-sensitive affordability. At the heart of the TDA you'll find a stunning carbon frame that beautifully mimics the brand's high-cost machines. While Orbea's higher-end models ride with a decidedly racer like mien, the TDA has a slightly more compliant feel.
The Onix will get plenty of stares--it looks good on the road. The carbon frame has what we might call a race-light feel. It's stiff enough that on a club training ride you'll be powering your way to the front. But it's not backbreakingly rigid: Take it on a casual four-hour jaunt and, while you'll feel ultra speedy, you won't have the upper-body soreness that you get from many race bikes. The Onix always has the right gear for any grade or wind thanks to smooth-shifting Shimano 20-speed components, a compact crankset and Shimano wheels.

  
For smooth, stealthy speed it’s tough to beat the Coda Sport. At this price level, we buck the fashion towards big-tubed, plain gauge aluminum, which can be a bit harsh and unforgiving over bumps, and we stick with Reynolds 520 double-butted steel, trading a few ounces for vastly improved comfort. It’s such a smart compromise, and one we know you’ll appreciate after your very first ride, that it shouldn’t even be labeled “compromise”.

A full brace of rack and fender mounts lets you outfit the Coda series to suit your needs—kit it out with a rack for running errands without the sweaty backside a backpack brings. Or add fenders to keep your work clothes spotless as the miles scroll by beneath those smooth-rolling Vittoria road tires. 

And those miles will pass quickly. Trigger shifters put you in charge of a triple-chainring  27-speed drivetrain so you’ll have super-low, easy-to-spin gears for the uphill sections with plenty of tall, fast gearing to take advantage of tailwinds and downhill stretches.

Whether it’s a quick lunchtime dash for a latte or a weekend fitness ride – the Codas are an oil-free gas.
